GIVE FOR GOOD
St. Vincent de Paul has only 1 campaign a year for monetary donations. You may have noticed the bill boards advertising "Give for Good." It is a nationwide endeavor. Approximately 12% of our total donation from Sacred Heart is added to our total. We will have SVdP donation buckets at each door collecting cash or checks until May 4. If you prefer to go on-line for your donation, visit the website www.giveforgoodnla.org. Be sure to scroll down to our Sacred Heart of Jesus pledge page, because there is another Sacred Heart in Rayville. During this COVID virus epidemic, many families are struggling so hard to pay rent, utilities, and keep food on the table. May GOD bless HIS people that are able to help the less fortunate.
Inspired by Gospel Values, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level. Vincentians are unitedin an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of chartiy and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Need for Volunteers!!!!
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVdP) has an urgent need for volunteers to take assistance calls from the Shreveport/Bossier community. The task involves taking calls once or twice a month, either in the morning or afternoon from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. No weekends or major holidays. Calls are forwarded to and answered at the volunteer’s home during the shift. Your home or cell phone number is NEVER displayed. Callers will only see the Hotline Number. Requests are then sorted by area and referred to the appropriate SSVdP Conference. Volunteers take information from those in need, but are not expected to be counselors or to have extensive knowledge of available assistance. The time required per shift is about 3 hours (2 hours taking calls and 1 hour referring).
If you can help with this critical ministry, please email Bea Cernigliaro at ([email protected]) or give her a call at (318) 631-5278.
Thanks for your support and assistance!
Together in Christ, Bea Cernigliaro
